The Horatio's influence bonus also makes it easier to avoid pirates early game as systems which you have sight on will not spawn pirates. I feel the Horatio are an excellent race to learn the game with as their fast expansion style can easily be used for just about any type of strategy you want. In it are 3 AI The United Empire, The Sophons, and the Pilgrims.
The map in this tutorial was generated with a random seed, all settings default, Spiral – 4, small size. I will be going through a single game in a very general manner pointing out what my goals are as the game progresses and what areas need what kind of attention.
